Ask Jim Hawkins

((mod question for followers!))

askjimhawkins:

A big part of what’s holding up answering everyone’s asks is trying to figure out how I want to answer them. But since a big part of this tumblr is for all of your enjoyments, I will leave the answer up to you guys!

So here is my question! Would all of you prefer (a) colored, but slower responses or (b) black and white, but faster responses?

Black and white responses allow me to answer your responses more quickly and with a little more emphasis on the art itself without using color as a crutch of, “well I can cover up this mistake when I color it.” Of course, a blog of nothing but b&w can get kinda boring to look at after a while. Colored responses are flashier, usually more fun, but slow down my response time a lot because I tend to focus on one response at a time (as in, thumbnailing, sketching, inking, scanning, coloring, and posting, onto the next. With black and white, I sketch all the responses out at once, scan them all in at once, do minor editing, and post in rapid succession).

So this answer is up to you guys and what you’d like to see out of this tumblr! Just let me know what you’d prefer and I’ll be going with the majority vote. Thank you guys for being such awesome followers and sending me such amazing questions.

Reblogging again to make sure everyone gets a say!
